The kids are moving out! Peter-John and Mackenzie Gerber, along with their team, are pioneering a new church plant in Kallangur!

Every parent hopes to see their children grow into responsible and capable adults and follow the calling of God on their lives. Ps. Peter-John has been at ThreeSixteen church for the last three years. We have loved, nurtured and gently corrected. We have celebrated him becoming licensed, married, and ordained. We have welcomed Mackenzie into the fold, supported her through the first years of being a teacher and joined her as she wonderfully sang in worship. Now we are championing them as they follow God’s lead to establish a new community of faith. Where we hope to see new baby Christians developed into mature leaders who themselves will be sent out.

Peter-John and Mackenzie’s hope and prayer for the Kallangur church plant is that they can be a community of missional disciples embedded and serving the community, where the broken and hurting can come, belong, heal and then be sent out to bring that healing back into the community. Transformed from injured patients into reconciling medics.

Church might look a little bit different; the church should be imagined as overseas cross-cultural missionaries, working as a team and doing it co-vocationally. It is slow, intentional work of becoming part of the community, gaining trust and rapport.

Discipleship moves at the speed of relationship and the gospel at the speed of trust.
