Wesleyan World Missions is the overseas missions arm of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Australia. We are focussed on Equipping and Empowering national leaders for maximum Impact within the Pacific region.

Noro Training Centre

This is the hub of the developing Wesleyan Methodist church in the Solomon Islands.

Together with Wesleyan World Missions we are working towards a self funding, sustainable centre that will impact more than just the church, but the local community, the nation and in fact the Pacific Region. This will be through development of business projects to create income for the centre, local community development projects in conjunction with local Govt and NGO’s. It is also hoped that a local Kindergarten and Christian School can be started on site.

The Theological and Leadership Training Centre under the direction of Australian Career Missionary Rev. David Collins continues to make ground and influence the Christian Community.

We can all play a part in supporting this vital project.

David Collins

As I look back over time, I believe God has been preparing me to serve Him in cross-cultural ministry all my life. In more recent years, this understanding has become clearer as I’ve involved myself in short-term mission trips to various Pacific nations. By living in the Solomon Islands, I see myself equipping and empowering leaders, who will develop effective theological education through the new ministry training centre being established at Noro.

Richard Soto

Richard Soto has been selected by the National Church of the Solomon Islands to complete his Bachelor of Theology Degree at the Christian Leaders Training College in PNG. The combined efforts of the SI and Australian Churches in supporting his family as they live in PNG through 2017 and 2018 to complete his studies will ensure that Richard can help with the training of leaders in the Solomons in the years ahead.

Rev. Dallas Thomas

Dallas and Ruth Thomas worked as missionaries with the Wesleyan Church, based in Papua New Guinea for three years in the early 1990’s. Upon their return to Australia, they established World Hope International, while Dallas also served in the elected role of National Director of Wesleyan World Missions. He has worked as General Manager at Vonex Telecom up until recently when moving to part time remote work. This has allowed them to volunteer their time and skills in various parts of the world, but most recently at the Noro Training Centre.

Dallas continues to serve part time as the Missions Director. He is passionate about the development and structuring of National Church Leadership and business development in a sustainable way. Dallas and Ruth have three children and six grandchildren.

National Director of Wesleyan World Missions

Bougainville

After the pioneering efforts of Frank and Ruth Midavaine over 25 years ago to form the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Bougainville, the New Zealand Wesleyan Church took over the primary responsibility for the development of Theological Education. In 2022 they appointed Australian Rev. Kevin Brown to a part time role to continue as Education Advisor to the church in Bougainville.
We again have the privilege to support our brothers and sisters there through Kevin.
